World Championship Finals by Jonathan Wan on Jul 27, 2004
World Championship Tournament TCG 2004 Semi-Finals
Sunday, July 25, 2004

The top 8 duelists from 6 rounds of Swiss faced off for the quarter finals of the World Championship Tournament 2004 TCG Finals.

Round 1
Ryan Pugh (UK) defeated Filipe Luque (Chile)
Masatoshi Togawa (Japan) defeated Roy St. Clair (USA)
Yoshinobu Suekane (Japan) defeated Kenyou Ueda (Japan)
Chan Wan Hang (Hong Kong) defeated Anthony Kok Khing Woon (Malaysia)

Round 2
Masatoshi Togawa (Japan) defeated Ryan Pugh (UK)
Chan Wan Hang (Hong Kong) defeated Yoshinobu Suekane (Japan)

However, the finals nearly saw Japan facing off against Japan. In the third game of the match between Hang and Suekane, Suekane finds out the hard way that when you activate “Book of Moon” on “Magician of Faith”, you cannot flip summon her that same turn. This critical ruling denied Hang a much needed Spell card and allowed Hang to “Dark Hole” the Magician before Suekane could use her effect. This gave Hang the edge he needed to win the game and match.

Round 3
Masatoshi Togawa (Japan) defeated Chan Wan Hang (Hong Kong)
Yoshinobu Suekane (Japan) defeated Ryan Pugh (UK)

Final Standings
First: Masatoshi Togawa, Japan
Second: Chan Wan Hang, Hong Kong
Third: Yoshinobu Suekane, Japan
Fourth: Ryan Pugh, United Kingdom

Congratulations to all 8 duelists for making it to the final rounds!
